Your Family, Couple And Solo Cruise Adventurer
Being born on a small island in the middle of the Irish Sea (the Isle of Man), travel, holidays, vacation (whatever you want to call it) has always been important to me, it’s a vital part of staying sane when you live in such a small place! When I got married and had a family the bug never left, family holidays were a huge part of all our lives. With sea water flowing through my island veins I’d always been curious about cruising.
Then in 2009 I I got serious about really wanting to go on a cruise. Operation convince husband started. He was dead set against it. Boring. Eventually I manged to convince him that what we were signing up for wouldn’t be a stuffy, boring, shuffling pensioner experience, instead it would be just like our other holidays except waking up somewhere new every day. We booked 2 weeks on the Ocean Village 2 around the eastern Med and I’ve never looked back!
Since then I’ve had the pleasure to cruise around so much of the world, firstly as a family, then as a couple when our daughter grew up and occasionally lately as a solo cruiser (the bug never did bite my husband but he does join in when the mood hits 🤣🤣). A lot of the time I see a cruise as an initial exploratory mission, when there’s ports and places I like they go on the “city break” list for further exploring.
This website is going to be my journal of the cruises I’ve been on, the ports visited, the ships I’ve enjoyed and also the many tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way. I’m a huge fan of the whole cruise blogging world BUT if you believed most of what was put out you’d think that cruises were ONLY about the dining and drinks. I want to show you there’s so much more out there than that, I’m not a foody, I love a cocktail but I love exploring ships and ports way more!
